Great review and I'll likely order some of their pieces to try on. I'm a huge advocate for The Fold London as they make gorgeous (often washable!) work clothes that read feminine senior executive without being twee. There aren't a ton of other options - Veronica Beard has captured a lot of this market but I don't find the sizing very inclusive - the fit they offer is clearly for very tall, very slim women and that's about it.
Excellent review of Argent, and it convinced me once again to check out the brand and invest in one of their pieces. I'm looking for a nice navy blazer, and this will be the first place I check. Also, supporting women-led businesses is a plus for me.
I almost didn’t click over to the site because my career at this point rarely requires true business attire, and personally the functional aspect of lots of pockets doesn’t really move me (the elastic in the blazer sleeve though — genius). But I’m really glad I did. The straight leg trouser! Amazing! The colors are wild and really really good. I think I’m actually going to jump on the purple trend because the grape is perfect (and if they make the matching blazer they show on the model I may well go full head to toe in a color I usually can’t stand). There’s a weekend blazer in a gorgeous green that is also now sitting in my notes app for possible purchase. (Okay also I have to say that I do think the label needs some work — it looks kinda cheap.) Excited to try!
I love Argent, but wish they did petites (I would say the same about Me & Em). Anyone that could produce professional high quality jackets that did not require $200 of tailoring to take them up at the shoulder (I love real buttons at the cuff, but they make alterations very expensive) would get many of my retail dollars. I always need to get pants hemmed too, but at least that’s cheaper.
Maybe you are lucky and have proportionally longer arms than I do! But for someone with a conservative professional job who can't simply push up a jacket sleeve, alterations are essential... and they add up.

Very valid. More sizes. Interesting but I’m 5ft2 and rarely get jackets altered like I do pants. Maybe I should re-examine this.
