What I Want To Talk About

It’s Saturday night and I’m Wide Awake thinking about 3 retail controversies.

I can’t get a few controversies in retail all happening this weekend out of my mind, so I’m surprising you with a bonus Sunday send. We need to talk about it.

It’s a busy weekend with my son’s soccer tournament, but at least it is in Sonoma — not a bad place to spend time this weekend. I also have flag football for my daughter, and a host of other family obligations.

I’m paywalling most of this as a thank you to my paid readers and to touch on retail, fashion, and beauty controversies happening right this minute. These are the topics I’d want to discuss at a cocktail party with all of you. Or as we sip a crispy Diet Coke.

In this send: Molly Sims took to Instagram on Saturday to share a huge disappointment for her and her YISE Beauty brand — another female founder-led brand launched a product with the same name of one of her popular products. This made me WIDE AWAKE with lots of thoughts. Plus: Sézane, Steven Kolb, Rachel Zoe, Diarrha N’Diaye, Rea Ann Silva, Beauty Blender, YSE, YISE, baggage, depuff, cultural shifts, my favorite eye patches, and deep thoughts.
